BOTANY
The Botany Department, affiliated with Bengaluru City University, was established in the academic year 2018-19 with an initial cohort of 14 students. The curriculum covers key areas within the scope of botany, including Plant Anatomy and Morphology, Plant Physiology, and Plant Taxonomy and Systematics. As part of a broader initiative within the Department of Life Sciences, students participated in a 30-hour intensive hands-on program on bioinformatics in collaboration with Mediomics Diagnosis and Bioresearch, Bangalore.
The department organizes talks and visits to various research centers and laboratories to provide students with practical exposure and a deeper understanding of botanical research. Additionally, the department actively informs students about the diverse job prospects available in the field of life sciences, as well as opportunities for further education through research or master's programs after completing their B.Sc. This comprehensive approach ensures that students not only receive theoretical knowledge but also gain practical skills and insights into potential career paths within the realm of botany and life sciences.
