CERTIFICATE COURSE:

The Zoology department along with the Biotechnology department had conducted value added certificate course in basic bioinformatics which provided the participants with hands-on exercises and interactive sessions, attendees gained practical experience in using bioinformatics tools, understanding genomic data, and interpreting their results.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Zoology, established in 1991, has been an integral part of the college since its inception. The department has two well-qualified and highly experienced permanent faculty members, who constantly strive for academic excellence and dissemination of knowledge to its student community. The faculty members have participated in national and international seminars regularly. Guest lectures are conducted regularly to expose the students to the latest trends in various interdisciplinary research fields.

Zoology, the study of animals, offers students fundamental principles of animal biology, physiology, behaviour, ecology, and conservation. In recent years, both basic and applied Zoology have gained significant interest from students, researchers, and industries in animal science. This interest has fuelled initiatives for environmental protection and biodiversity conservation.

The department has a good number of specimens and a well-maintained aquarium. The department has an LCD and a good internet facility. A majority of our students opt for higher studies in various reputed institutions and other universities. Many students qualify themselves in different competitive exams conducted by private and government organizations.
